As you can see from the image to the right the sponge expands when it is soaked. |
As you all know i suffer from dry skin so using brushes to apply foundation is a no no (although i still continue to use it *hides face*) since is produces mild abrasion against the skin which could cause dry flakes to come off the skin surface. The beauty blender allows the foundation to be applied softly without affecting the surface of the skin, also adding a little hydration.
Application
I use this is in stippling (bouncing) motion all over my face rather than a rubbing and buffing motion. I like to roll the sponge around the edges of my face so it blends nicely into the hairline. I also like to roll the sponge all over my face after application for an extra flawless look.
This applies foundation smoothly and leaves the skin looking flawless. The wetness of the sponge allows foundation to be applied with a little hydration so it smoothes out those dry patches.
It is also perfect to sheer down full coverage foundations. It allows your foundation to look skin like and not cakey and mask-like.
The points the sponge allow you to get to those hard to reach areas such as under the eyes and around the nose.
The beauty blender sponge duo set was purchase from www.misebeauty.com for £22
